Endean, Jr. William
William Endean, Jr., 91, passed peacefully at home on February 13, 2016. He was born on June 26, 1925 to immigrants from England, William Endean Sr. and Ann Willis Endean. He grew up in Chicago, IL along with his two brothers, Willis and John. He proudly served as a radio operator on General John McConnell's plane; commander of the "Flying Tigers" Brigade in World War II. The war ended, and he came back to America when he was 21. He attended Bradley University, and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree. As a fraternity member of Sigma Chi Delta Rho Chapter, Peoria, IL, he always said he started college an introvert, and he was an extrovert when he graduated. He became known as "Uncle Bill" when he moved to Albuquerque in 1953 to join his brother Willis and family. He worked for the Public Service Co. of NM for four years, and then joined his brother Willis in purchasing what became Endean Brothers Plastics Company, now Endean Sign Company. To console himself after a heartbreaking divorce and separation from his young sons, he began to paint when not at work at his Plastics Company. He admired the work of local Albuquerque artist Jake Haverstick, and Taos artist Nikolai Fechin. His family and friends treasure many of his oil and watercolor portraits as well as landscapes. Uncle Bill was happily married to Linda Duckworth Endean from May 17, 1963 until her death on May 16, 2000. He was also happily married to Lila Owen Endean from June 26, 2007 until her death on May 13, 2012.
