William Dennison

August 16, 1925 — November 6, 2012

DENNISON, WILLIAM EDWARD "Bill"Age 87, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his loving family Tuesday, November 6, 2012. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, June "Alice Logan"; daughters, Toni Meyer and husband Jeff and Teri McHugh; grandchildren, whom he taught to drive in Lindrith NM, where Bill and Alice built their dream home, Rachael, Jessica, Sara, and Wesley; great grandchildren, Shawn, Domonick, Alyssa and Aubrie; his brother, Fred Dennison and wife Kaye and many other family and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Cecilia Dennison and his brother, Harold and his step-mom, Sally Dennison. Bill attended school in Oriskany, NY then joined the Army and fought in the Pacific during WWII. After the war, he was assigned to Guided Missile R&D in Pasadena, CA, and White Sands Proving Ground, NM. Bill worked on the development and firing of the Corporal Missile. Later he worked for NATO in Northern Italy and the Yugoslavia border training NATO soldiers. His next assignment was Okinawa supporting the Vietnam War under SEATO. After he retired from the Army, he worked in Waco, TX and Albuquerque NM for the Veteran's Administration's adjudication office. Bill was an avid fly-fisherman and hunter. He and that dumb old bird dog "Luke" hunted birds throughout this state that he loved so much. He had an amazing intellect and memory. He humbly considered himself a "storehouse of useless information," but his family knew he was a genius. He will be remembered for his charm and quick wit and will be missed forever. Friends are welcome to attend a Memorial Gathering at his home, Saturday, November 17, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Family requests no flowers.
