William J. Crawford, Sr. (Bill) passed away on Sunday May 14, 2023, at the age of 98. He was born William James Crawford on February 11, 1925, in Punxsutawney, PA, to Walter and Twila Crawford. He is survived by two sons, Mark Crawford of Albuquerque, NM and Randy Crawford and wife Amy of Amarillo, TX; grandchildren, Tamara Perez, Daniel Perez and Kimberly Shields, Leef Crawford, Shannon Crawford, Luke Crawford and wife Sarah, Cody Crawford, Kaila Burrus, Kyle Crawford and wife Ashlee, Cory Crawford and Michaelee Jeffers, and Clay Crawford; sixteen great grandchildren, Tabytha, Talyn, Drew, Chase, Brayden, Colton, June, Acelynn, Hunter, Holden, Whitaker, and Cayson; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Margaret A. Crawford; two sisters Ethel and Jane; daughter Terry C. Perez; son William J. Crawford, Jr. (Billy) and his wife Susan; and a grandson, Shamash Crawford. Bill was a loving, devoted, and caring husband, father, and grandfather. He was a World War II veteran serving in the US Army 89th Division 354th Infantry and was awarded the Purple Heart during his service. Following his miliary service he worked in civil services positions before joining Sandia National Laboratories, retiring after 31 years in November 1989. His caring nature, generous spirit, and kind advice will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A visitation followed by Funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2023, 1:00 p.m. at FRENCH- Lomas this event will be available via livestream below. He will be laid to rest with his wife, Margaret at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
