It is with deep sorrow that we announce William “Bill” Gilbert Brinson, 68, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away unexpectedly in his home on January 14, 2025. Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
Bill was born on July 27, 1956, in Victorville, California, to Harry and Mitsuyo Brinson. Growing up in a military family, Bill’s early years were filled with travel and adventure, including living in California, England, and eventually settling in Albuquerque after his father’s retirement. He attended Holy Ghost Catholic School and graduated from St. Pius X High School in 1974.
On October 27, 1979, Bill married the love of his life, Donna, and together they shared over 45 years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. He was a devoted husband, a caring father to their two daughters, Nicole Hamblet and Kristy Eller, and a proud grandfather to Peyton, Tyson, and Berto.
A devoted Christian, Bill’s faith was the foundation of his life. He lived with grace, humility, and a deep love for God, and his faith inspired those around him. He found strength in his church community, where he was a faithful member and servant.
He enjoyed bike riding and treasured his time at the family ranch in Capulin, New Mexico, where he built lifelong memories surrounded by nature and loved ones. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was known for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family.
Bill is survived by his wife, Donna Brinson; daughters Nicole Hamblet and Kristy Eller; grandchildren Peyton, Tyson, and Berto; siblings Arlene Lujan, Jeff Brinson, and Tom Brinson; and numerous extended family members and friends.
A memorial service celebrating Bill’s life will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Heights First Church of the Nazarene in Albuquerque.
Bill will be remembered for his kindness, faith, and the warmth he brought to those around him. His unexpected passing leaves an incredible void, but his legacy of love and devotion to his family and faith will continue to inspire all who knew him.
