SWORTWOOD, WILLIAM MITCHELL II Bill, age 65, was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque died on Wednesday, July 24, 2013. He is finally at peace after a long battle with depression and chronic pain following an accident in 2009. Bill is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ferrell Swortwood; his parents, Harry Thomas and Mary Lurlene Swortwood; his niece, Stephanie Pederson; and his cousin, Harriette Bigney. He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Eileen Swortwood; sisters, Sharon Reimann and Judy Pederson; niece, Jennifer Anderson; and nephews, Lyle Reimann, Mitchell Reimann, and Dr. John Pederson; cousins, Wes Bigney, Brooke Bigney, Wesley Bigney, LouAnn Murphy, Emily Rees, Michael Murphy and Nick Owens; and nine great nephews and nieces. Bill attended Highland High School and graduated from Calvert Academy in Albuquerque. He worked as a cinematographer, director and camera operator in many national companies. He was President and Creative Director of Welwood International, an advertising agency owned by him and his wife, which specialized in television and radio production. He also served as Senior Vice President of Talon Advertising. He received many awards and his films have been on view at Film Festivals worldwide. At the end of his career, he served as a movie location scout. He loved to fish and hike. A celebration of his life will take place on Monday, August 5, 2013, 5:30 p.m., at Immanuel Presbyterian Church, 114 Carlisle SE. In lieu of flowers, a fund has been established for Bill's daughter, Stephanie. The account is called the "Stephanie Swortwood Support Fund" at Sandia Laboratory Federal Credit Union. Donations may be made by stopping into the bank or calling the bank at 293-0500. A private interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Park.
