Age 89, passed peacefully at his home Friday, September 21, 2012. Resident of Albuquerque since 1954, he was born May 31, 1923 in Whitt, Texas, graduated from Floydada (TX) High School in in 1941. He entered the US Marine Corps and fought in the South Pacific during World War II, seeing action in Guadalcanal, the Solomon Islands and the Marshall Islands. In Albuquerque, he was associated with F.W. Woolworth, Briner Rust Proofing and Bell Trading Post, Inc., later SunBell Corporation, from which he retired. SunBell recognized him as one of their highest-producing sales representatives. He is survived by his wife Jewel of Albuquerque; daughter Yvonne Johnstone Lanelli of Alto, NM; also Annie Kelly, his daughter of the heart; and George Cook, his son of the soul, both of Albuquerque. Crypt side service on Monday, September 24, 2012, 10:00 AM at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd NE, 345-3536. The family will receive condolences afterward at home.
