Walter "Todd" Ostapack passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 28, 2023. Born in Massillon, Ohio on Sunday, June 11, 1967, to Lucille (Capaldi) and Walter Ostapack. He is preceded in death by parents and brother, Christopher Daniel.
Todd was passionate about music, dancing, and sports. He studied at Southgate School, Whipple-Dale Center, and Higgins Workshop. He was a member of the Sounds of Silence Choir, which gave a command performance for the President of the United States in the Oval Office January 1993.
He moved to Albuquerque in 2006, eventually found and joined the Buen Viaje Dance Troupe. He studied and performed with the company until it dissolved in 2020. Like most New Mexicans, he was a big fan of Lobo basketball and Isotopes baseball. However, it was the Green Bay football that got him most excited, "Go Packers", or whichever football team was ahead.
Todd touched many a heart. Family, friends, Copper House staff, and his healthcare providers will miss him dearly.
He is survived by his sisters; Toni of Canton, Ohio, Patty of Albuquerque; brothers; Doug (Ann) of Horse Cave, Kentucky, Mark (Christine) of Massillon, Ohio; Alan, Scott (Joyce), and Nick (Mary Ann) of Albuquerque; nephews; Jarrett, Jacob, Sean, Reese and Ted; nieces; Angela, Crystal, Maggee, Rachael, and Mallory; great nephews; Zephyr, Hudson, Oliver, Jack, and Maggee's baby boy to be; great nieces; Olivia, Kendel, Rylan, Aryanna, Remi, Haley, and Stella.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the NM Special Olympics.
