PAUL, W. KENNETH Died Tuesday, November 12, 2013 after a short and unexpected battle with a malignant brain tumor. He was born November 1, 1936, in Louisville, KY, and moved to Albuquerque with his parents, John and Alba (Billie) Paul, in 1943. Ken attended Emanuel Lutheran School in Albuquerque as well as Trudell's School in the legendary Huning Castle near Old Town Albuquerque. He graduated from high school at New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell and attended one year of college there. He earned a degree in business at Eastern New Mexico University in Portales where he met his wife, the former Paula Griffith of Stegall, Texas. He did work toward a master's degree at the University of New Mexico. Ken was employed by Sandia Laboratories for 40 years as a computer analyst and retired in 2001. He was instrumental in helping Sandia Laboratories make the computer transition to Y2K. He also worked at sites in Hawaii during his career. Among his loves were his wife, children, and grandchildren as well as his airplane, a Cessna Cardinal, N12095, his dog, Smokey, dancing with his wife, and his Alma Mater, New Mexico Military Institute. Paula and Ken enjoyed many vacations traveling in his plane, and Ken also enjoyed skiing and the occasional snorkeling trip. Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, Col. Timothy Paul and wife, Linda; daughter, Kristen Paul Dennis and husband, Lt. Col Bryan Dennis; grandchildren, Lauren Dennis, Austin Dennis, Shelby Paul, Savannah Paul, Bailey Paul, and Tanner Paul all of Albuquerque. A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, November 16, 2013, 3:00 p.m., at Church of the Good Shepherd, 7834 Tennyson NE. His ashes will rest in the columbarium at New Mexico Military Institute.
