Age 85, born in Dill City, Oklahoma and a resident of Albuquerque since 1956 (Aztec from 1951-1955), passed away on Monday, April, 22, 2013. Mrs. Fischer is survived by her children, Duvonn Morrison of Phoenix, AZ and Chris Fischer and his wife, Laura McDonnell of Seattle, WA; grandchildren, Phillip Morrison and Joshua Morrison of Albuquerque, NM; and cousin, Treva Hill and her husband, Dale Hill of Albuquerque, NM. Mrs. Fischer was preceded in death by her husband, Henry William (Dub) Fischer. Vonell was a lifelong educator, first as a home extension agent of San Juan County and later as school teacher at Comanche Elementary where she taught for 28 years. Those who had opportunity to experience and enjoy her jams, pickles, fire starters, ice candles and centerpieces would agree that Martha Stewart had nothing on her. She was most happy when on the prowl for trout and never found a fishing pole or fishing hole she didn't like. A service to celebrate Vonell's life will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at FRENCH - University.
