Vivian Yott Reeves, 97, passed away in Buellton, CA on August 8, 2017. She was born December 14, 1919, in Albuquerque, NM, and graduated from Albuquerque High School and attended the University of New Mexico. Vivian was trained as a dental hygienist and worked for many years in California. She was an accomplished violinist and violist and a member of the Albuquerque Youth Symphony begun by her mother and father in 1930 as well as a member of the Junior Civic Orchestra.
Vivian was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband of 39 years, George James Reeves, Commander U. S. Navy retired; her parents, Edward Le Roy Yott and Sarah Hall Moore Yott; and her brother, Marion Franklin Moore. She is survived by her nephew, Kip Anthony Moore (Carolyn); her stepdaughter, Lynn Izzo; granddaughter, Kim Guzman (Xav); and great granddaughter, Emma Guzman; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; and special friends, Marcia Wolfe, Jeff Mueller, and Catie Glover.
Vivian was a "people person" and loved entertaining friends and family. She was in her element when she welcomed you at the door with a big smile and a "How ya doing?" and "Can I get you anything?" She and G.J. traveled extensively while maintaining a ranch in Buellton, CA and the Yott family residence in Albuquerque, dividing their time between the two.
The family expresses their deep gratitude to everyone who helped care for Vivian during these last few years. A Graveside Service will be Monday, August 14, 2017, 10:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
