Vivian Patricia Herrera, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, age 63, a resident of Albuquerque since 1971, passed away on January 4th, 2013. She is survived by her husband, Joseph G. Herrera of Albuquerque; children, Gilbert J. Herrera, Steve A. Herrera, Nick Herrera and his wife Antoinette all of Albuquerque; grandchildren Mellanie Ammons, Alan Broome, Joseph Herrera Jr., Brianna Herrera, Cameron Herrera; her great-grandkids. She is also survived by her father Gilbert Herrera; brother William Celevich; sister Nancy Clow; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Mrs. Herrera was preceded in death by her mother Katie Herrera. Vivian was born in Los Angeles, California, raised in Chili, New Mexico and then lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Vivian retired in 2010 from Manzano High school. Vivian liked sports, was a Forty Niners fan, and was a cheerleader in School. She also enjoyed bowling and softball, Vivian enjoyed going to casinos, girls day outings and traveling. Vivian was selfless always putting others before herself. Vivian was hardworking, loving, and straight to the point. Vivian was supportive of her family's endeavors. Vivian was a constant presence at her kids' and grandkids' sporting events. She looked forward to helping prepare food every week for the football team's pep rallies. She spoiled her grandchildren like crazy!!! There was nothing she wouldn't do for them. Both friends and family knew Vivian would be there for them whenever needed (she was often known as "camp counselor"). Vivian also enjoyed family barbecues and being outdoors. Vivian was an amazing cook, baker and dancer. Vivian will be missed by all her family and friends Services will be held on Sunday January 13th at 11:00 a.m. at French's Mortuary located at 10500 Lomas Blvd NE. Albuquerque, NM 87123.
