Skip Franzen, born on July 30, 1929 in Minneapolis, MN, went to be with the Lord on September 25, 2018. Skip is survived by her husband, Richard Franzen; sons, Kerry Anonsen and Kent (Kris) Clemmons; two special sisters, Jeanne Stough and Jann (Don) Holm; Shelly Anonsen; and six-grandchildren.
After starting her career as an elementary school counselor, Skip became the Director of Elementary Counseling for Albuquerque Public Schools. She went on to earn her PhD in Counselor Education from UNM. That eventually led to a position as a Dean at Sonoma State University in California. After retirement, she continued to help university counseling programs achieve accreditation standards.
A Memorial Service will be held Monday, October 8, 2018, 10:00 a.m., at Sandia Presbyterian Church, 10704 Paseo del Norte NE. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.
