Virginia, “Ginger” Galarneau, passed away suddenly and peacefully on Friday, January 21, 2022 at her home in Tijeras, NM.
Ginger was born in Susanville, CA and raised in Klamath Falls, OR. She moved back to California after high school where she met and married the love of her life, Richard Galarneau, in 1959. Ginger was an extremely talented artist, seamstress, baker and homemaker. Her artwork was showcased in numerous art shows in California where she garnered multiple awards. After 56 years in California, she and Richard moved to the hills of Tijeras, NM. She loved the tranquility of the mountains and enjoyed watching and caring for the wildlife that made regular visits to the property.
A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is preceded in death by one son, Richard James. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Richard; daughter, Janine Stenson and her husband, Tom; son, James Galarneau and his wife Carol; and daughter, Jennifer Galarneau; grandchildren, Laura, James, Ryan, Richard, Christie and Jonathan; and great-grandchildren, Stella, Juliette, Sloane, Farrah, Carter, Kira, Christian, Alice, Harrison, and Stephen.
