Virginia Jean Trybus, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away peacefully Monday, August 31, 2020 in Albuquerque, NM. She was 95. Jean was born at home in 1925 in Wyandotte, MI, and moved to New Mexico in 1988.
Jean was a talented seamstress and homemaker. She learned these skills at Lincoln Park High School, Lincoln Park, MI graduating with honors as a member of the National Honor Society.
During World War II, Jean worked as a secretary for the Eureka Vacuum Company. In her later years, she sewed flags for American Flag and Banner in Warren, MI.
Family was most important to her. She and Richard, her husband of 67 years, successfully raised four loving children. Outside, Jean relished growing vegetables and flowers. While inside, Jean knitted blankets, afghans and worked on a variety of needlework projects. She enjoyed reading and spending time with family.
Jean is survived by her son, Paul and wife Andrea; daughter, Kathleen Burton and husband Cody; son, Charles; and daughter, Claire DeGroot and husband Michael. Grandchildren include Elaissa, Brittany, Lian, Leah and Chris; great-grandchildren are Porter, Archer and Matilda Jean.
Jean is predeceased by her loving husband Richard, along with her dear sister Donna and brother Bill. She is survived by her siblings Jim, Bob, Richard and half-sister Karen and their extensive families.
Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2020,10:30 a.m. at St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Rd. SE, Rio Rancho, NM. A Private Memorial will be held at the Committal Service Area at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
Donations may be given in Jean’s honor to the charity of your choice
