Virginia was born in Cincinnati, OH, to Laura Belle and Homer Earl Jones. She lived with her maternal grandparents in Iowa until she was 7 years old when her mother and new stepfather, Hubert F Williams, brought her to a new home in Albuquerque.
At 18, Virginia married Walter F. Scott and birthed 3 living children: David, Laura Lou and Cheri. As a homemaker for 23 years, she was an excellent support system, seamstress, cook, and nurse to her family and parents. Upon divorcing Walter, Virginia became certified as an Inhalation Therapist and worked at St. Vincent's Hospital in Santa Fe.
On a retreat in Glorieta, NM, Virginia met James Stewart, Jr. and they married. Living in Dallas, then Albuquerque, the couple volunteered at the Shriner's Children's Hospital, Senior Centers, DAV, Veteran's Hospital, and homeless shelters. After James death, Virginia continued to volunteer and donate generously to causes for the 'underdog'.
Virginia was the longest standing member of the Daughters of the Nile (55+yrs), past Worthy High Priestess of the White Shrine, member of Eastern Star, and sponsor of Job's Daughters. She is survived by 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
