Virginia Lee (Williams) Shearin died on January 28, 2022. Virginia was a lifelong Christian and devoted to her faith.
She was born in 1925 in Waco Texas, where her parents were attending college. The family moved to New Mexico, eventually settling in Albuquerque. She graduated from Albuquerque High in 1943. In 1945 she married William S. Shearin, Jr.
Music was always an important part of her life, and she took every opportunity to use her skill in service of her Lord. Virginia earned a degree in Music from Hardin-Simmons University with double concentration in organ and piano. She also graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. For many years she served the Music Ministry at Sandia Baptist Church in Albuquerque.
Virginia was preceded in death by William, her husband of almost 70 years, and by three sons, William Grayson, Richard, and David and son-in-law Tom. Both of her parents and her older brother also predeceased her. Virginia is survived by daughters, Mary Jo and Julie and Julie's husband Rusty; by her son, Robert; and her daughter-in-law, Debbie. She is also survived by grandchildren, Eileen, Sarah, Stephanie, Allen, Rebekah, Kelsey, and Bailey. She had two great-grandsons, Christopher, and Benjamin.
Friends may visit FRENCH - Lomas, 10500 Lomas Blvd NE, Friday, February 4, 2022, 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Service will be held Saturday, February 5, 2022, 10:00 a.m. at Sandia Baptist Church, 9429 Constitution Ave NE. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd NE. In lieu of flowers please consider a contribution to the Building Fund of Sandia Baptist Church.
