Virginia M. Buonauto Rose, 87 of Albuquerque, NM, beloved wife and mother passed away in her home May 28, 2016 surrounded by family and friends. Born March 3, 1929 to Anthony and Lena Buonauto (Napolitano) in Waterbury, CT, she met her future husband while attending hairdressing school, marrying Matthew M. Rose (Matty) in 1948. During their 68 years of marriage they were successful small business owners. In 1971 the couple moved to Albuquerque, where they later retired, affording time to meticulously care for their home and yard, travel with friends, visit the local senior centers and casinos, play cards, and enjoy home-cooked meals with family. Virginia is predeceased by her parents; brother, Charles Buonauto and sister, Eleanor Buonauto Jensen. She is survived by her husband, Matthew; her brother, Anthony Jr. and wife Carmella Palladino; three children, Darlene Fentner and husband Richard, Matty Jr., and Claudia Goodell and husband Lenny; six grandchildren, Heidi, Chris, Sean, Amy, Amber and Nicole; 10 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; cousins, many nieces and nephews, and a host of long-time friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, June 6, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Ennichement will follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, stjude.org.
