Virginia Rivas

Virginia Rivas, Age 68, a long-time resident of Albuquerque, died Sunday, March 20, 2016 after a short battle with cancer. She is survived by her three daughters, Raquel Rivas, Patricia Rivas, and Rebecca Valdez; five grandchildren, Annika Page, Clarissa Mestas, Michael Valdez, Jr., Makayla Otero, and Alianah Martinez; two great-grandchildren, Abriella Romero and Peyton Page; two sisters, Olga Soto and Lydia Garcia; one brother, Arturo Padilla; and numerous other relatives and friends. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Patricio Rivas; and her parents, Guadalupe and Antonia Padilla. She loved to sew but more than anything else, loved being with her grandchildren. Virginia was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Friends may visit Monday, March 28, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, March 29, 2016, 1:00 p.m. at Holy Ghost Parish, 833 Arizona Ave. SE. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
