VIRGINIA MADRIDWas born in Wagon Mound, New Mexico, on July 3, 1927, to Alfonso and Kina Sanchez, and left this world to be with the LORD on July 24, 2012 after a brief battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Irene Ricca, and by her husband of 59 years, Tony Madrid, whom she lovingly called "Honito." She is survived by her brother, "Nato" Sanchez, of Beaumont, CA, and her sister, Maryann Apodaca, of Questa, New Mexico. Her passing is mourned by her six children, who survive her - Anthony Madrid, of Sun City, CA; Frances Butler, of Columbia, SC; Lawrence Madrid, of Bakersfield, CA; Rita Warren, of Canyon Lake, CA; Ernie Madrid, of Ventura, CA; and Irene Madrid, of Sun City, CA; along with her sons and daughters-in-law - Frances's husband, Jerry, Lawrence's wife, Linda, Rita's husband, John, and Ernie's wife, Rita. Virginia also leaves behind 10 grandchildren - Rick, Ramon, Becky, Erica, Jon, Michael, Jennifer, Amy, Justin, and Nikol. Virginia had 15 great-grandchildren, and was a beloved aunt to many, many nieces and nephews - too numerous to list, but who all, along with the other family members herein listed, mourn her passing. We will all miss her dearly. A Memorial Service will be celebrated on Monday, August 27, 2012, at 9:00 a.m. at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with Interment scheduled to take place at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico, later that same morning - commencing at 11:15 a.m. Pastor Sam Sais, of Calvary Chapel of the Rio Grande Valley, Belen, New Mexico will be the Officiant.
