Virginia M. Luna-Dalesandro

July 30, 1943 — February 7, 2025

Virginia M. Luna-Dalesandro, 81, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque NM passed away peacefully on Friday February 7, 2025, with her family by her side in Mesa AZ.

Virginia is preceded in death by husband of 53 years Manuel A. Luna; and later married Carmen (Del) Dalesandro 3 years; parents Antonio and Erma Griego; brother Tony Griego; sister Lugardita (Lugie) Gonzales and sister MaryAnn Mora.

Virginia is survived by her children: Manuel Jr (Gwen) Luna, Ancilla (Julie) Luna, Antonio (Amanda) Luna, Adrian (Pam) Luna. Grand children: Elise (Juan) Sedillo, Manuel Luna III, Justine Luna, Brianna (Adam) Amestoy, Raven Luna, Xander Luna, Saharra Luna, Ari Luna, Maddie Early and Great grandchild Roman Amestoy.

Virginia started bowling at the young age of 19 with her dad and continued to bowl with several teams until she was diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis in October of 2022 at the age of 79. She loved her teammates and the great times they had.

Virginia was a fan of many genres of music, from Motown to New Mexican. She liked songs from popular contemporary artists throughout the decades from the likes of Rod Stewart, Steve Perry, Janis Joplin and, local New Mexico artists just to name a few…And with the love of music came the love of dancing. The jitterbug being one of her favorites.

She also, loved going to the Casino to play the slot machines and thoroughly enjoyed playing bingo anywhere she could whether it was trips to Las Vegas or in casinos around NM. Lately she played at the East Mesa Moose lodge with a special group of friends that welcomed her with open arms. Although she had many dogs (chihuahuas), she loved every single one. In the end, she had a special love for Tippy and grand pup Peetie.

Pallbearers are Steven Montoya, Xander Luna, Steve Gonzales, Michael Mora and Paulette Mora Gonzales. Honorary Pallbearers are Samuel Sanchez, Dorothy Sauceda, Eileen Johnston and Bonnie Maldonado.

A Visitation followed by a Rosary will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, 6:00pm at FRENCH-Lomas. A Mass will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025, 11:00am at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, 811 Guaymas Pl NE. 87108 followed by burial at Mt.Calvary Cemetery, .
