Virginia Ruth Johnson, lived a great life of 86 years. She was born on a farm outside of Carmen, OK. She became a switchboard operator in Oklahoma and was one of the first switchboard operators in Albuquerque. Before working and retiring from Rio Grande High School, she worked at the Road Runner Jewelry Shop in Old Town. She was a very talented crafts person, she especially enjoyed designing ceramics. Virginia was a hard worker and raised her children.
Virginia leaves behind her children, Kelly Casey and his wife Carmie, Dawn Casey and Carroll Voelkel and her husband David; grandchildren, Jack and Christopher Jones, Robyn Gunn, Curtis and Jade Casey, and Christopher and Matthew Voelkel; and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Jones.
Services will be Friday, April 22, 2016, 2:00 p.m. at FRENCH - University. Interment will follow at Sandia Memory Garden.
