Violet passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at the age of 93 with her daughters by her side. She was born in England on March 19, 1931. She is survived by her daughters of Albuquerque, Vanessa Ham and Marilyn Bauder (Mark); her grandchildren, Nicole Kleinsteuber (Billy), Michael Ham (Ava), Kacey Casey and Kyle Hogland, and great-grandchildren, Addison and Thomas Kleinsteuber. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Wright, Jr., her parents and many family members in England.
Vi was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved cooking Sunday and holiday dinners for her family. She loved horse racing, going to the casino, watching and playing golf, and visiting family and friends. In her later years, she enjoyed going to Las Vegas, NV and meeting up with Lenny, her brother from England, and his daughter, Steph (Martin). She and Tom were happily married for 53 years until his death in 2006. They spent many years traveling, both when Tom was in the USAF and retirement. Some of their best times were traveling in their RV with friends, especially the Warner's.
She was an expert seamstress, even making her daughters' clothes when they were young. In her later years she was known for her amazing baby blankets that were gifted to so many. Tom and Vi's song "Unforgettable" is how they will be remembered, together again. She will be remembered for the phrase "what can I do for you" even when at an assisted living facility. Her family is very grateful to the staff at Advantage Assisted Living and Hospice de la Luz for taking such good care of her for the last two years. Heartfelt thanks to her neighbor and friend of many years, Ann Davis.
Vi has been cremated and will be laid to rest at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM, alongside Tom. In lieu of services, the family will have a celebration of her life at a later date.
