Viola Nichols Chavez

Viola Nichols Chavez, age 91, passed away at her home on January 9, 2022. Viola was a loving sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother. She resided in Albuquerque for most of her life and was an elementary school teacher for many years at Mitchell Elementary School. She was as devoted to her students as she was to her family. Viola was preceded in death by her husband, David Chavez Jr., sister Kay Moe and son Darren Chavez. She is survived by her sisters Marge Ricks and Bea DiCenzo and sons David Chavez and wife Sandy and Eric Chavez and wife Kristen. Grandkids left behind are Rheanna Chavez-Chacon and husband Hugo, Amanda (Chavez) Stratmoen and husband Steve, Megan (Chavez) Bodle and husband Matt and Eli Chavez. Her beloved great grand kids are Alexandra Chacon, Samantha Chacon, Henry Stratmoen, Addison Bodle and Grace Stratmoen.
