Vincent Newman, 98, beloved husband and father, was called to his eternal home in heaven on November 8, 2015. He entered this world on October 29, 1917 in Millmont, PA. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Robert (Bobby) and Dottie Newman and daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Rick Siegel. He also was survived by two granddaughters, Davine and husband Manual Sanchez and Kara Siegel; and four great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Risse, Ethan and Alyssa Sanchez.
Vincent served on our behalf in WWII during his tour of duty in the US Army. He was awarded a Purple Heart while in service to our country.
Vincent enjoyed the outdoors by planting gardens and trees everywhere he saw an empty spot. He also enjoyed participating in the Senior Olympics. He ran in races up to the age of 89 and was told if he continued he would be the only one in the next division!
A Memorial Service for our honored veteran, father and grandfather will take place on Friday, November 20, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Heights Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 8600 Academy NE. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
