Vincent Andrew Meyer
Vince was born March 13th, 1952 in Santa Monica, California. He passed away June 28th, 2024 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was the child of an aeronautical engineer and a homemaker/real estate agent, with ancestral roots in the Rhine valley on the border between what is now Germany and France. Vince grew up in Glendale, California and attended New Mexico State University, initially on a football scholarship, where he met Patricia Ann Hatton, his wife of 48 years. They later moved to Lawrence, Kansas and then landed in Albuquerque in 1978, where they had three children.
Vince worked most of his life as a well-respected structural engineer, taking pride in the complexities of collaboration and - in particular- the artistic works for which he was able to provide structural input. He loved a family adventure, a roadside attraction, and a beautiful sunset. Vince was a joker and an optimist - his humor, his inquisitiveness, and his interest in how things work carried him through difficult times and a life of inner growth. Vince loved his family very much, and will be missed deeply.
Vince is survived by his wife, Patty (Albuquerque), his children Annie (San Francisco, CA), Eric (Albuquerque), and Joe (Albuquerque) as well as his daughter-in-law, Lindsey (Albuquerque). Vince will be remembered at a memorial service at French Funeral Home on Wyoming and San Antonio in Northeast Albuquerque on Monday, July 15th at 4pm.
In leiu of flowers, family is asking for donations to be made, in Vince's name to Roadrunner Food Bank.
