Victoria R. "Vickie" Vallejos

Vallejos, Victoria "Vickie" R. Victoria Rosalie "Vickie" Vallejos, age 75, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully, on Saturday, July 25, 2015. Vickie was born on July 30, 1939 in Albuquerque, NM, to the late Jose and Maria Gutierrez. Vickie was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Vallejos; her brother, Pete Gutierrez; and her sister, Viola Jojola. Vickie is survived by her sons, Daniel Romero married to Maureen and Dennis Romero married to Dee Dee; and her siblings, Max Gutierrez married to Mary Ann, Albert Gutierrez, and Alice Sutton married to Al. Her loving memory is passed on through her two grandchildren, Amarise and Jonathon; and several loving nieces and nephews. Vickie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She worked tirelessly in and out of her home. She selflessly sacrificed to make sure that her children had every opportunity to be happy and succeed in life. In 1985, Vickie married Jose Vallejos and they began their journey in life together. They were inseparable and devoted to each other for 28 years. Vickie retired from St. Joseph's hospital where she worked for over 30 years. The highlight of her life was her grandchildren. She loved cooking for them and always made sure to have special treats when they visited. Vickie was a member of the St. Anne's Catholic Church in Albuquerque. She touched the lives of many people with her delicious food, smile and generosity. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial rosary on Friday, August 7, 2015, 7:00 p.m., at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal Rd. SW. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2015, 9:00 a.m., also at St. Anne's Catholic Church. Pallbearers will be her nephews Michael and Matthew Gutierrez.
