Victoria (Nedanovich) Reuter

Victoria Reuter, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on Monday, September 3, 2018 at the age of 77, from the ravages of Alzheimer’s disease. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Robert C. Reuter, Jr.; daughter, Linda Nuckolls and husband, Ed and grandchildren Dana and Todd; daughter, Susan Stanojevic and husband, Vladi and grandson, Dylan; son, Paul Reuter and wife, Amy and grandchildren, Blake, Kate and Luke. Vicki is also survived by her sister, Margaret Smar; and brother, Donald Nedanovich.

Vicki graduated from the Michael Reese School of Nursing as an RN in 1960. She and Bob were married on September 10, 1961 and ultimately moved to Albuquerque in 1968 where they have lived ever since. During her nursing career, Vicki served as a private duty nurse, hospital floor nurse, and pediatrician office nurse. She took a long break from nursing to be a full time, loving mother to her three children, resuming her career briefly after they had all grown.

Vicki was a thoroughly dedicated wife and mother, a kind, sweet, unselfish, patient, gentle, yet strong lady who was adored by all who knew her. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing at church and around the house. The strength of her faith and love of the Lord was evident by the way she lived her life. She loved helping others and was actively involved in the Basket of Hope Ministry, an outreach program that provides gifts and moral support to children diagnosed with cancer and other serious illnesses. During the course of her own illness she maintained her dignity, tenacity, strength of character, determination to be happy and strong, and her faith in God. At difficult times you could see the evidence of pain in her eyes and brow, yet simultaneously somehow managing a smile. Vicki benefited significantly from Armada hospice during her final year, being attended by highly qualified and dedicated nurses, a staff doctor, and several aids, one of whom remained absolutely dedicated and faithful to her wellbeing for nearly a year until the very end.

A Memorial Service for Vicki will be held Saturday, September 15, 2018, 10:00 a.m., at the Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. A reception will follow at FRENCH – University, 1111 University Blvd. NE.
