Victoria Martinez

The matriarch of the Sanchez Family, a resident of Albuquerque since 1989, formerly from San Francisco and Kings Beach, Lake Tahoe, passed away March 4, 2013. She was preceded in death by her spouse, Ismael J. (I.J) Martinez; her only daughter, LaVerne Matushenko; son-in-law; Walter; her father, Fred A. Sanchez, Sr. and her mother, Luisa Pacheco Sanchez. She was also preceded by her siblings, Luis O., Conrado A., Margaret A., Manuel A., Horacio A. and Fred A. Sanchez, Jr. Her surviving siblings are Josie O. Martinez, Luis A. Sanchez, Dolores (Eva) Chavez, Teresina M. Candelaria and husband, Eloy, Donald L. Sanchez and wife, Ruth, Daniel L. Sanchez all of Albuquerque, William A. Sanchez, of Santa Fe and many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her for her gracious hospitality, the many people that had the opportunity to attend her elegant dinner parties and royal treatment when in all her homes. Mass will be celebrated Thursday, March 14, 2013, 9:00 a.m. at The Shrine of St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 11041 Indian School Road NE. Interment will take place at the National Cemetery, 501 N. Guadalupe St., Santa Fe, NM, 87501, at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 14, 2013. Pallbearers are Robert Monson, Ronald Monson, Roger Monson, Brent Wylie, Ryan Wylie and Dalen Salazar. Honorary Pallbearers David Candelaria, Mark Candelaria, Jonathan Sanchez, D.J. Sanchez, Nathan Wylie and Troy Salazar.
