Vicente B. Tuason, MD passed away peacefully on February 11, 2018 at his home. He was 88.
Vicente (Vic) was born in the Philippines on January 27, 1930. He graduated from Santo Thomas Medical School, Philippines in 1955, completed his internship at Swedish Hospital in Minnesota and was welcomed as a resident at the Psychiatry Department of Washington University, St. Louis in 1956. There, Vic began a 50-year career as a physician scientist that brought him and his family to Canada, Missouri, Minnesota, and New Mexico. Throughout his academic career Vic was known as a kind and empathic leader.
Vic devoted his life to his wife, Natividad B. David, MD and his two daughters, Theresa and Deborah.
Vicente is survived by his wife of 61 years, Natividad; daughter, Theresa (Jim Hudziak); daughter, Deborah (Andy Quinones); grandchildren, Vicenta, Samuel, Madeline, Emma (Hudziak). He is also survived by his brother, Alfredo (Mia Tuason); sister, Norma (Jimmy Javier); sister-in-law, Emma (Ben Palaganas, deceased); sister-in-law, Luz (Arturo Tuason, deceased) as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
A family service will be held Wednesday, February 21, 2018.
