Born to Jose Maria Maes and Emilia Espinoza Maes in Wagon Mound, NM. Vicente was the youngest of 9 children; whom he now joins Eternal Life.

He was a devout Catholic and active member of Holy Ghost Catholic Parish in Albuquerque, NM. Also, a proud Trojan, he graduated from Wagon Mound High School in 1952 and attended Highlands University. While working full-time, he earned his associate degree in accounting from then TVI (now Central New Mexico Community College) in 1970. Vicente served his country in the military, from 1955-1957, becoming Sergeant in his time in the service. Following, he spent his career working as a Renal Dialysis Technician at both the Veteran’s hospital and St. Joseph’s hospital in Albuquerque.

Vicente was a very humble man of faith, love, selflessness and humor. He enjoyed watching basketball and horse races, fishing, camping trips, playing the guitar, singing and dancing. He enjoyed the daily newspaper, there was not a crossword puzzle he didn’t solve. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who put his family first in everything he did. He was happiest when he was surrounded by his family and was always his grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s biggest supporter at various sports and activities.

It is said, “grief is the price we pay for love.” Although Vicente’s absence will be felt forever more, his family has peace knowing he has been made whole again and is dancing in Heaven. Heaven re-gained one of God’s greatest creations, who leaves behind a legacy of love, a life of service and countless memories that those who were touched by him will cherish forever.
