Veronica Valdez

Veronica Valdez, 88, passed away on July 16, 2015 and is now dancing with the Lord in Heaven. Veronica was born in Truchas, New Mexico on March 27, 1927, to parents Carpio and Ramoncita Archuleta. She is preceded in death by her husband, Rudolfo Valdez Sr.; and two sons, Walter Valdez and Rudolfo Valdez Jr. She is survived by her remaining three children, Eva Quintana and husband, Loren Quintana, Dean Valdez and wife, Rebeca Valdez, and Marvin Valdez. Veronica had nine grandchildren that include Ginger Martinez and husband, Ed Martinez, Ruben Valdez, Siobhan Torres and husband, Alfred Torres, Renee Quintana, Eddy Quintana, Cynthia Wiley and husband, Scott, Jennifer Valdez, Isabella Valdez, and Alex Valdez. Veronica also leaves behind many beloved great-grandchildren; her sister, Julia Barela; and longtime friend and dancing partner, Victor Sanchez. Veronica will be remembered for her great love of her family, long walks, her cooking, and her dancing. Her Rosary will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Wyoming. Extended family and friends may visit beginning at 5:00 p.m. Her Mass will be held Monday, July 20, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Queen of Heaven Parish, 5311 Phoenix Avenue NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110, with interment immediately following at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 7999 Wyoming Blvd. NE. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Veronica's name to the Albuquerque Stroke Club at P.O. Box 3653, Albuquerque, NM 87190-3653.
