Wilcox, Velma
Velma Wilcox (né Archuleta) passed away on November 15, 2015 at the age of 93. Born February 27, 1922 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, she was predeceased by her husband, Robert Wilcox. She is survived by daughter, Nanette Wilcox; and her son, Robert Wilcox, his wife, Denise (Mayer), and their sons, Bryan and Brandon. Velma was a person of many skills. She adapted easily to traveling with her family and military husband all over the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii. She loved living in Hawaii, but also enjoyed salmon fishing in Alaska. She enjoyed numerous arts and crafts from leatherwork to sand painting and made rosaries for years to send to various missionaries. In her last few years, she received excellent, loving care at Carefree Assisted Living. Her physician, Francesco Standoli was extremely caring and compassionate. The Rosary will be recited Tuesday, November 24, 2015, 7:00 p.m at FRENCH - Lomas and a Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, November 25, 2015, 11:15 a.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery. She is already missed very, very much.
