Veldonna V. Lappin Darrah passed away peacefully at home, with her husband by her side, on Thursday, November 14, 2013. Veldonna was born in Caldwell, Idaho on December 12, 1930 as the youngest child of parents, Adaline and Claude Lappin. Her three older sisters, Thelma, Frieda, and Effie, who loved their "Babe" very much and doted on her, have preceded her to Heaven. Veldonna met and married her husband, David in Albuquerque in 1953 and together they worked tirelessly in Pastoral Ministry both in New Mexico (Gallup and Espanola) and Long Beach, California, and finally retiring to Albuquerque in 2004. She quietly made a difference in many lives by extending God's grace and love during her time here on Earth, and the ripples of her impact will last forever. Veldonna is survived by her husband of 60 years, David W.; daughter, Deanna and son-in-law, Scott; son, David C. and daughter-in-law, Gloria, and three grandsons, Kevin, Travis, and Dillen, along with a large extended family and a multitude of friends. She deeply loved God, her husband, her four children, and her three grandchildren who are grateful for the time they had with her and although they will miss her very much, they are comforted by the knowledge that she is now forever with Jesus. Special Thanks to all the wonderful, caring people at Hospice of New Mexico. A Celebration of her Life Service will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2013, 3:00 p.m., Life Tabernacle, 1112 Carlisle SE, 87106. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you, instead, make a donation in Veldonna's name to Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, info@aafa.org.
