Veda Lea (Byrd) Helm

Veda Lea Byrd Helm, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, went home to be with the Lord after 98 years of life on Thursday, August 3, 2023. She was born on Tuesday, September 9, 1924, in Larken, Arkansas to Clarence and Alma Byrd. She was the oldest of seven siblings who preceded her in death, JB Byrd of Oklahoma, Cleo Byrd of Oklahoma, William Byrd of Oklahoma, Helen Millwood of Arkansas, Betty Milner of Oklahoma, and Gale Byrd of Oklahoma. She married Jimmie T. Helm of Sage, Arkansas and moved to Albuquerque making their home for 72 years before Jimmie passed away. They had three children, Linda Helm Circle of Arkansas, Laraine Helm of Albuquerque, and Kenneth Helm of Clovis New Mexico. She had six grandchildren and 12 great- grandchildren. She was a faithful member of the Highland Baptist Church for 72 years, where she served the Lord in many capacities. She was a homemaker involved in school activities, community activities and love to serve as a hostess for family and friends at community events. She will be greatly missed.
