Valerie Duarte

Valerie Duarte, age 61, a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away Wednesday September 18, 2024. Valerie was known for her kindness and willingness to help everyone. She loved music, doing puzzles, and coin wrapping. She was very devoted to La Virgen de Guadalupe and enjoyed watching Danzas. She is survived by her children, Martha, Caroline, Leroy, Natalia, Maria, Agustin, Amanda, Atilano; 20 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild. She is also survived by her brother, Ruben; and sister, Margaret. Valerie is preceded in death by her dad, Wilfredo; mom, Ernestina; brother, Nano; and sisters, Barbara and Rita. She leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Also touching Valerie's life was her teacup chihuahua that has been her companion for 12+ years. A Visitation will be held Wednesday October 2, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. at FRENCH-University. A Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church on Thursday, October 3, 2024 followed by interment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith Blvd NE.
