Valda M. Kaminski, 96, of Huntley, Illinois, died on April 10, 2016 at the home of her daughter, Patricia Cox. She was born in Rock Island, IL on December 26, 1919 to James and Meta Marre.
Valda was the village clerk of Milan, IL for several terms and worked in the payroll department at Rock Island/Milan School District #41 for many years. She and her late husband, Walt Kaminski, moved to Albuquerque, NM in 1986 where they were avid golfers and bridge players. They enjoyed their RV and traveled frequently throughout the United States and abroad.
She is survived by her four children, Ralph Wesley Scott, Jr. in Arizona, Janice E. McCarter (Joseph) in Ohio, Patricia A. Cox (Terron) in Illinois, and James M. Scott (Konnie) in Florida; grandchildren, Christopher Scott, Shawn Scott (Brenda), James Scott (Miranda), Heather McCarter (Jordanna), Justin McCarter, Terron Cox II (Elizabeth), Scott Cox (Jessica), Elizabeth Grusich (Tony), Ashley Scott, Tyler Scott; great-grandchildren, Madison Scott, Seth and Aiden Scott, Colin McCarter, Emily Vervill, Jude, Elise and Amelia Cox, Henrietta Grusich; and sister, Patricia A. Averill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Meta; husbands, Ralph W. Scott, Sr. and Walter A. Kaminski; granddaughter, Jennifer Vervill; brother, James Marre; sisters, Margaret Marre, Vernie Rosene, Irene Martin, and Alberta Mohr.
Services will be held Wednesday, April 20, 2016, 10:00 a.m., at FRENCH - Wyoming in Albuquerque, NM. Interment will take place Thursday, April 21, 2016, 3:00 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
