Uvaldo Montoya

January 7, 1930 — August 29, 2020

Dearest Uvaldo Montoya, 90 years young.

This gentle, loving, caring, and wonderful man has left a permanent mark etched on our hearts and will forever be missed.

Waldo Montoya, 90, passed on Saturday, August 29, 2020, in his home, surrounded by Family and loved ones.

Uvaldo “Waldo” Montoya was born in Escobosa, NM, on January 7, 1930, to parents, Mateo and Amalia Montoya.

Waldo was married to Lucy Montoya, and now joins her with the angels in Heaven above.

Uvaldo was the backbone and a loving inspiration to generations of Montoya’s.  He was the sweetest, nicest, most compassionate man anyone has ever met.  Waldo loved to be outdoors and to take long bike rides and long walks.  Give him his hat, a nice spot of shade, and that’s where you would find him.

Waldo never met a desert he did not love.  Donuts and coffee were his go-to, after some fried eggs, but he definitely was eating anything sweet he could get his hands on.

Raising his family in Albuquerque, he was a positive role model, giving of his time, kind, and generous and would do anything for his loved ones.  His Family always came first. He was such a major presence in the lives of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Waldo was a Proud and Loving Father to his children Richard and Sylvia, Audrey, Michelle, Donna, Josephine Prescilla and Eloy.  His joy and wonderful character continues to shine through them.

He was a blessed grandfather and loved unconditionally is grandchildren, Gino, Janelle, Jeanine, Shirley, Marlene, Darlene, Irma, Vicente, Melisa, Lupe, Adrian, Bianca, Natalia, Eloy, Luciano.

His memories live on with 21 beautiful Great-Grandchildren.

Waldo will forever be remembered for his stunning colored eyes, his warming smile, caring heart, loving embrace, and unconditional love for his family.  Although our hearts are heavy, we will celebrate his life and take comfort in knowing that he is watching over us all.
