Troy Dunlap, loving husband, dedicated father, doting grandfather and best friend and mentor to many, unexpectedly passed away June 19, 2021.
Troy will be remembered best as a man, a man that shared his love, wisdom and laughter with anyone he met. He was always teaching us something, through his everyday conversations, or his crazy pranks, we all learned something from Troy. He enjoyed doing his art, always coming up with his own creative way to express himself. Then giving away his most loved pieces to people he cared about. He spent hours in his garage coming up with new projects. Troy was the first one to help others, almost to a fault. He would give you his last dollar if he thought you needed it. The more he teased you or made fun of you, the more he liked you. He could be crass and inappropriate at times, but that’s what he enjoyed, watching others reactions. Troy always made an impact wherever he went. He loved his jobs and always made life long friends.
Working at Cort Furniture for 20 years he made friends that will continue to be in his family’s lives and take vacations with. When he moved on to Vitality Works, he again impressed so many and continued to have poker nights with a special group of friends. Doing security with Allied was new and exciting for Troy, and again he impacted co-workers in his unique way. Most recently Troy enjoyed learning 3-D printing and made another special group of life long friends at JABIL.
In his personal life he lived a full, fun filled, loving and kind life. He fell in love and married young, having two beautiful children, Arianna and Joseph. As time progressed, his life was changed and he was single for a short time. But, being the family man he strived to be, he fell passionately in love again, remarried, took on the responsibility of a step-son, Ryan and had another beautiful daughter, Cassandra. Troy lived his life wanting to do right by his children, be a good role model and be available to them. He was beyond thrilled when he learned he would be a grandfather. He was blessed with that very special role 3 times within 3 years. He could not have been happier having three strong, handsome, funny and rambunctious grandsons, Rayden, Chance and Everett.
Troy looked forward to his many adventures with his wife, Chris. Whether it was fishing in the Pecos, riding scooters in San Francisco, meeting wonderful friends in New Orleans or searching for shells at midnight in The Keys. Troy knew how to live life and wanted everyone around him to do the same.
Troy is survived by his wife, Chris Dunlap; his children, daughter, Arianna Dauber and her husband, Julian Dauber, son, Joseph Dunlap, daughter, Cassandra Dunlap and step-son, Ryan Federico; and his grandsons, Rayden Dauber, Chance Dunlap, and Everett Dauber. He is also survived by his mother, Wanda Boatmun; and brother, Sean Dunlap. He also leaves many other loving family members and wonderful friends. Troy was preceded in death by his father, Garth Dunlap; and grandmother; Lola Dunlap.
