Trelva Vickie Vaow, age 85, was born on June 3, 1938, in Tremonton, Utah to Elmer Theodore and Thelma (Hodges) Godfrey. She passed from her earthly home and joined her Heavenly Father on Sunday, December 10, 2023, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Vaow of Missoula, Montana; and her five children, Clint (Robin) Bowman, Dee Dee (Wes) Parker, Lynn (Terry) Bowman, Sandy (Mark) Zahn, Cheryl Maldonado; and her daughter-in-law, Sandy Hymes Gollar, her 16 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren with another on the way; her brothers, Darnell (Gwen) Godfrey, Clavell (Ann) Godfrey; and her sister, Eva (Bill) Taylor.
Vickie was preceded in death by her parents, her former husbands, Clinton D. Bowman, and Melvon D. Hymes; her sisters, Evelyn Smith, Rosealane Tubbs and Aldyth Spillman; her stepson, Dean Hymes; and her grandson, Chris Bowman.
She was a life-long member of the LDS church. She loved to garden and never met a weed that she didn't have to pull, to sew, and she canned up a winter's worth of vegetables from her garden almost every year. She liked to read, dance, fish and hunt. She worked for Fox Photo until they closed, then she worked for Motorola until her retirement.
The family would like to thank Ambercare Hospice for their assistance over the last several months, and to offer a very special thank-you to Vickie's home care RN, Julie, and her home health aide, RitaMarie. Both of these ladies were very helpful, gentle and kind. Vickie always had a smile for them when they were with her.
