Tong-Cha Jasso - born Tong-Cha Kwon - 79, beloved Mother and daughter, was called to her eternal resting place on December 13, 2021. She entered this world on January 20, 1942 in Incheon-city, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea.
Born to Mal-Sun Pak and Yong-Han Kwon. Her father, Yong-Han, had passed away early in Tong's life. She is the middle child to Yoon-ja kwon, the younger sister, and one older sister she never talked about to her children. Tong spent much of her early life moving constantly with her family due to the tension between north and south Korea.
When Tong became of working age, she spent much of her time helping her mother who worked at a restaurant in Kunsan, South Korea. Tong moved to Osan to help family and during her time in the city of Osan, she had met a man, who was also never named, which she had her first child with, her daughter Chin-Kyung Kwon, born June 13th, 1964, at age 23. And 4 years later, on December 27th, 1968 at age 27, she had her son Jae-Yong Kwon, both of which never knew their biological father due to an unstable relationship.
The sole responsibility fell on Tong to take care of her children and help her mother as her younger sister, Yoon-ja, ran away from home when she was only a teenager, and her older sister passed away in her early twenties. It was 10 years later, around 1978 she had met Joel A Jasso, a united states airman, in a bar in Osan. She told her children when Joel had approached her, she would only go out with him under one condition; "shave that silly mustache and beard!". After a year and a half together, Tong and Joel got married on January 7th 1980. Joel took Chin-Kyung and Jae-Yong into his care, and not a year later brought them all stateside to Vandenberg Airforce base in California, with the exeption of Tong's mother who wanted to stay in Korea where she would also be laid to rest in 1983.
Tong's marriage to Joel would bring her 2 sons and take her to California, Florida, Michigan, and finally to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1988 where she would spend the remainder of her life, and a marriage that would last 33 years until Joel A. Jasso Sr's passing in 2013. She is survived by her sister, Yoon-Ja Kwon. Daughter, Chin-Kyung Kwon, and sons Jae-Yong Kwon, Tim Jasso, Matthew Jasso, step-sons Joel Jasso Jr, and Narcisso Jasso, and nephew Daniel Flores. Grandchildren, Rebekah Jasso, Allen Jasso, Ixicillia Jasso, Ethan Jasso, Evette Jasso, Izak Jasso and Elissa Jasso. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mal-Sun Pak and father, Yong-Han Kwon.
