Tomomi Surran, 52, born in Akita, Japan, passed away suddenly at her home in the village of Los Lunas on 14 March 2023. She is survived by her husband, Justin; her two children, Alicia and Jesse; her parents, Katsuro and Miyoko Sato; her brother, Masaru; and her parents-in-law, Robert and Linda Surran.
Tomomi lived life to the fullest and always strived to do more while providing the best possible home for her children. Her husband Justin took them all on a whirlwind journey of the globe during numerous military relocations over their 21-year marriage including assignments to Italy and Germany. Despite her husband's numerous deployments to war torn parts of the world, keeping them separated for almost 9 years in total, she was able to visit and enjoy several other countries including London, Croatia, France, The Netherlands, and Belgium.
Her travels and love of life and family was always reflected in her passion for presentation from food to decorations while caring for her loved ones or entertaining her friends. The kitchen, her workshop, the house, her castle was always ready to have guests over to enjoy her cooking and excellent hospitality where she would put together simple snacks to seven-course meals especially for the holidays and other special occasions. When not at home, her friends and frenemies always looked forward to the dishes she would bring to the numerous potlucks and parties.
