Tobias Chavez

TOBIAS R. "TOBY" CHAVEZ SRAge 85, a resident of Jarales, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, June 26, 2012. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Virginia Chavez; children, Lorraine (Floyd) Manzanares, Elizabeth (Michael) Martinez, Toby Chavez Jr., Rose (Michael) Marra, Jane (John) Sanchez, Mark (Valerie) Chavez, Beverly (John) Lucero, 21 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; sisters, Delia Chavez, Vera (Al) Guzman and Marcella Chavez. Toby served his country in the US Army in WWII. After the war, he worked for ATSF Railroad, retiring after 37 years. After his retirement, he became a full-time farmer, which he dearly loved. A Rosary will be recited Friday, June 29, 9:00 am at San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church, 2005 North Plaza NW, followed by celebration of the Mass at 9:30 am. Interment will follow at Mt.
