Tito Trujillo (91) of Rio Rancho, New Mexico left his earthly estate on Saturday, March 11, 2023. Tito was born on Wednesday, June 3, 1931 in Taos, New Mexico to Juan Manuel Trujillo and Domitila Maria (Miera) Trujillo.
Tito was united in marriage on Friday, July 1, 1949 in Taos, New Mexico to Carmen Sarah Cortes. They remained married 72 years until her passing in 2021. They were high school sweethearts and it did not hurt that Carmen's father was his boss at the market they owned.
Tito earned an Associates Degree from Westminster, Colorado College. He worked for Zia Laboratories in Los Alamos, NM for many years. He also ventured into real estate when he bought Quads in Los Alamos and rented them out. He eventually sold them for a profit. Earlier in their marriage, Tito also sold Wearever pots & pans. After leaving Zia, they owned an Orange Julius franchise in Santa Fe, NM for several years before selling it. They lived in Belen, NM before settling in Albuquerque, NM. He also served in the Army in the Artillery Unit during the Korean War. He loved museums and was an excellent marksman in shooting competitions.
Tito's favorite pastime was riding his many motorcycles, often competing in the "Over the Hill" category - bringing home trophy after trophy. He loved camping outdoors (especially in AZ), puttering in his garden & fruit trees, and watching old time Western movies. He was a great cook and could whip up tasty omelets and pecan pancakes. Tito took up carving, making beautiful mirrors and frames - even making an heirloom crib for his grandchildren. He was also an exquisite writer and history buff. He also enjoyed traveling throughout Europe and Turkey. He was especially fond of the furry animals and loved taking Bruno out for walks.
But, most importantly - Tito loved his family. He would always make time for them. He would always make sure you were taken care of, and many times would spend time teaching you important aspects of life. He was a very patient man, very generous, and always a gentleman!
Tito leaves behind 2 sons, Ricardo Trujillo (Linda Heddleston) of San Tan Valley, AZ, and Leonard Trujillo (Susan Briesmeister) of Washington, UT; 1 daughter, Linda Stoecker (Frank) of Albuquerque, NM. Additionally, he left behind 1 brother, Jesse Trujillo from Washington State.
