Timothy H. Whalen

Tim Whalen, 66, passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2014. He is survived by his two sons, Kevin and Ryan Whalen. Mr. Whalen, as he was known to most, impacted the lives of thousands as Principal of Manzano High School, Principal of Jefferson Middle School, and Assistant Principal of Sandia High School over his 36-year career in Albuquerque Public Schools. Never one to rest on his laurels, he was enthusiastically beginning his seventh year as Principal of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School. Tim Whalen received undergraduate and graduate degrees from Louisiana State University and a postgraduate degree from the University of New Mexico. The Rosary will be recited Monday, September 1 at 6:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church (4020 Lomas Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM). Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, September 2 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery 11:30 a.m. All are warmly welcomed to join us in celebrating the vibrant life of a loved teacher, leader, and father.
