Thomas Bernard Vinke Wednesday, June 29, 1927- Saturday, January 7, 2023. Born in Chicago, Illinois to the late Susan and Frank Vinke. He was married to the late Ramona (Armijo) Vinke for 38 years. They were always together- coming and going.
Grandpa Tom is survived by his stepdaughter, best friend, caregiver, and advocate, Bennina Armijo Sisneros and her husband, Bernard Sisneros, Jr. He is also survived by his step daughter Clara Valenzuela and her family.
Grandpa Tom loved his Starbucks coffee, egg salad sandwiches from Flying Star and apple pie from Sprouts.
Grandpa Tom had some very special grandsons, David Sisneros (Mary), Nathaniel Sisneros, and Gilbert Valenzuela, as well as three very special grandchildren, The Leprechauns, Maliah, Kenisha, and Edwin Sisneros.
Grandpa Tom played tag with special great- grandson, Isiah Sisneros when he was just a little boy and watched Sponge Bob with Edwin, our little guy.
Grandpa Tom and Gilbert took many a Sunday drive all around Albuquerque and ventured to Bernallilo, Santa Fe, and Los Lunas for a burger and a shake.
Grandpa was preceded in death by his special granddaughter, Mary Margaret Martinez, on Monday, August 25, 2022.
Grandpa served in the Army during the Korean Conflict at Pork Chop Hill. He was honorably discharged and earned the Combat Medal.
Tom will be interred at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at a later date, along with his wife, Ramona.
