Thomas Mooney, 83, beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather was called home to be with Jesus on June 5, 2017. He entered this world on January 6, 1934 in Springfield, OH, born to Thomas and Reva Mooney. He is survived by his wife, Ida; daughter, Tina; son, Thomas, wife, Cindy; daughter, Michele, husband, Todd; daughter, Cherie; grandchildren, Michael, Mckayla, Rachael and husband Clarence, Tara, Alexis, Stacy and Chris; sister, Dode, great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Thomas served in the Army during the Korean conflict and was stationed in Japan. He was grateful for the opportunity to serve his country. His life was dedicated to serving others, and his greatest joy came from serving the Lord Jesus Christ. He was active in the Gideon's ministry, volunteered regularly at Steelbridge, preparing and serving meals and traveled to Mexico to help build an orphanage and home for the elderly. He was a skilled craftsman who enjoyed drawing and making special keepsakes to bring joy to others. He was a loving husband and father. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren playing, laughing, teaching life skills and imparting wisdom. He was much loved and will be missed by many. We joyfully anticipate being reunited with him in heaven someday.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 24, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Wyoming.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor can be made to the Gideon's International, www2.gideons.org or Steelbridge, www.mysteelbridge.org.
