Wife, mother, and retired elementary school teacher, Theresa Walsh, passed away at 71 on July 22, 2021, after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Theresa was the youngest of the three daughters born to Edith and Richard Carbonelli. Her adventurous spirit led her to skip school, build rafts and promptly sink them in the Phoenix, Arizona canals where she grew up. It also took her to four continents and over 30 countries. Theresa's vibrant personality ensured she made friends wherever she went. Contrary to convention, she highly recommended talking to strangers.
In 1980, she married her loving husband Michael Walsh, and they had three daughters together. She had the unique ability to connect with children and spent 23 years teaching elementary school. She loved dogs, reading, art, world history and could often be found in her lush garden with a glass of white wine in hand.
She is preceded in death by her much-loved daughter, Elizabeth; parents, Richard and Edith Carbonelli; and mother-in-law, Ann Walsh. Theresa is survived by her husband of 40 years, Mike; daughters Laura and Rachel; sisters Rosemary and Helen; grandson Arlo; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
