Theresa (Hoving) Van Wyk

Theresa (Teri) Van Wyk, 89, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend was called to her eternal resting place with the Lord in Heaven, on December 4, 2017. She entered this world on May 28, 1928 in Chicago, IL, born to John and Alice Hoving. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, of 54 years and daughters, Shirley and Lanae Van Wyk. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-laws, Beverly (husband, Allan) Gross, Donna (husband, Stan) Haynes, son, Joseph Van Wyk; grandchildren, Joshua and Christopher Van Wyk, Eric Haynes and Lanay Henry and great granddaughters, Piper and Remi Haynes.

Teri was a professing Christian, having lifelong relationships with her relatives and friends through the community and church. Teri always remembered everyone's birthdays by singing "Happy Birthday" to them over the phone. This act of kindness was a unique gift she shared with us. She will be sorely missed but our happy memories of her and knowing that she is in Heaven with other loved ones and with our Lord, will comfort us in our grief. Teri enriched the lives of all who knew her or were related to her.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at FRENCH - Westside. In lieu of flowers, donations to Teri's church family, The Westside Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 4110 Sabana Grande Ave SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124, would be greatly appreciated.
