The Fr. George Joseph Sondergaard Rev.

Was born on October 20, 1932 in Bronx, NY to Helen Agnes Curtin and George Albert Sondergaard. Archpriest George Sondergaard was granted retirement with the title Pastor Emeritus on August 1, 2010. He received a Prestigious Gramota from His Beatitude Metropolitan + JONAH for his many years of faithful service in the Lord's Vineyard. On the occasion of Fr. George's Retirement All Saints of North America Orthodox Mission received Parish status. He founded All Saints of North America Orthodox Mission in Albuquerque in 1994. Fr. George Sondergaard has been a resident of Albuquerque since 1981- 1984, 1991. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ingrid Marie-Luise Sondergaard; twin brother, Gerald Sondergaard; children, Rolf Sondergaard and his wife, Marina, Karen Rogillio, Christine Ruffino and her husband, Luke II, Teresa Balthrop and her husband, Kirby, Clare Gibson and husband, Robert; grandchildren, Jason Balthrop, Ashley Sondergaard, Jennifer Matejcek, Joseph Rogillio, Justin Rogillio, Joshua Balthrop, Ashley Gibson, Alexxa Roberts, Luke Ruffino III, Travis Gibson, Michael Couch, Justin Balthrop, Nicci Willey, Dillon Gibson, Marissa Calvillo, Aaron-Michael Calvillo, Nicole Espinosa, Jesse McNeely and 20 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Anne Marie Couch. A Panikhida will be celebrated Thursday, May 9, 2013, 6:00 p.m. at All Saints of North America Orthodox Church, 10440 4th St NW, Albuquerque, NM 87114. The Funeral Service will be celebrated at the church on Friday, May 10, 2013, 6:00 p.m. The Paschal Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, May 11, 2013, 9:30 a.m. followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Those serving as Pallbearers will be Rolf Sondergaard, Kirby Balthrop, Jason Balthrop, Joshua Balthrop, Joseph Rogillio, Justin Rogillio, Luke Ruffino III and Travis Gibson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Luke Ruffino II, Robert Gibson, Aaron-Michael Calvillo, Tyler Fox, Max Matejcek, Nolan Matejcek and Jodie Matejcek. "His life was his family and the church." He served our country in the US Air Force.
