Teresa Jean Muffoletto RN

Teresa Jean Muffoletto, RN, 64, was called to her eternal resting place on March 19, 2016. She entered this world on April 5, 1951 in Ripley, WV, born to Bruce and Dorothy Elswick. She was a dedicated, compassionate nurse, a free spirited artist, and an adventurous outdoor enthusiast who loved to hike, kayak and explore our Southwest's natural beauty. She also very much loved the Native American culture and received the nickname "Firestar" from a Native American medicine man. The name symbolized her free and unique soul. She was drawn to New Mexico and felt like this was home and where she was supposed to be.
She is survived by her three daughters, Dr. Melissa Valdez, Stephanie Muffoletto Cassady, and Erin Muffoletto Baca. She is preceded in death by her late husband Dr. Warren Muffoletto; her parents; her daughter, Jennifer Muffoletto; and her granddaughter, Madison Cassady.
A Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 22, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Westside. Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m., following the visitation.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Jude Thaddeus Church, 5712 Paradise Blvd. NW, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87114. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87107.
